Building your websites online, is a process that has gotten both easier and cheaper over the years. The problem now, is that there is such an abundance of tools that let you do the job…you’re actually spoiled for choice, and it’s a lot easier to be steered in multiple different directions.
Fortunately, if you’re looking at either GrooveFunnels or Squarespace, you can consider yourself looking in the right place, for sure. Squarespace is amongst the more popular website building options out there today, and GrooveFunnels was created by some of the O.G’s when it comes to digital marketing and software as a service (SAAS) tools for online marketing.
In this GrooveFunnels Vs Squarespace article, I’ll be going over both of these website builders in great detail, so that you know, which of these two options are the best for your particular situation. We’ll be looking at what each of them does, how much they cost, and what they are.
Let’s dive right in.
What Is GrooveFunnels? What Is Squarespace?
Let’s first look at what each of the services are.
What Is GrooveFunnels?
GrooveFunnels is a digital marketing platform, created by Mike Filsaime (ex co-founder of Kartra) at the end of 2019, and it allows you to do anything you need, when it comes to digital marketing. This includes selling your digital products, doing email marketing with an integrated autoresponder, running webinars, and a lot more.
It’s an amalgamation of around a dozen or so different tools, that interconnect and communicate with one another, to bring you a complete software platform and all-in-one system.
It has taken the marketplace by storm, can substitute over 26 other tools, and is cheaper and more modern than most of these combined. It also has the goal of becoming the number 1 digital marketing platform in 2023, competing with the likes of Kartra, Builderall and other software like ClickFunnels and even WordPress.

Squarespace Features
When it comes to Squarespace, some of the more interesting features, are as follows:
Premade Website Templates – Squarespace has a huge database of pre-made website templates that you can integrate onto your domains, and easily and quickly custom edit as much as you want, with very little effort. The pages also look incredibly slick and very clean.
Block Technology – Squarespace, similar to some other platforms out there, allows you to create your pages by dragging and dropping custom blocks. You can do anything from map blocks, product blocks, video and audio blocks, and more.
Blogging – The platform also includes a blogging component to it, that will allow you to compete with other platforms like WordPress. You have the general content management and syndications, social sharing buttons, you can set posts to publish, draft, or schedule, and you have all the basic functionalities of a mainstream blog tool. There is no need to use any SEO plugins, and Squarespace automatically generates your sitemaps to make sure the search engines rank your sites.
Email marketing – Squarespace, also allows for powerful email autoresponder features. You can easily create campaigns, draft emails, sequences, broadcasts and much more. You’ll obviously also be able to see analytics, to make sure you can optimize, every step of the way.
E-commerce – The Squarespace platform, also allows for some pretty serious e-commerce support. Because of how clean the pages look, making a high-quality e-commerce store with Squarespace, is stupidly simple. You can upload unlimited products, use multiple templates, you can add subscriptions, donations, customize your checkouts, add gifts cards, discounts and much more. You can also sell your own digital products as well, and seamlessly transition between them.
Analytics – With the analytics feature, you can see your traffic overview, what content is popular, track key performance metrics like conversion rates, sales and more, you also get to see which keywords are driving you traffic from google, and where your traffic is coming from.
Domains – Squarespace allows you to buy your own domain, and host it directly from them, without having to modify DNS settings. They also provide you with your own free domain, as long as you buy their annual subscription.
There are a ton of other things that the Squarespace platform can do, which include custom CSS, customizable content layout, image edition, and even create logos. If you’re interested in learning more, you can head over to their features page, here.
GrooveFunnels Vs Squarespace: Pricing
In this section, we’ll be going over the different pricing options available, for both of the platforms.
GrooveFunnels
GrooveFunnels has as or right now, 4 different pricing plans or options. These are the following:
GrooveFunnels Base Account – FREE. This is a 100% free account, that gives you the ability to use GroovePages lite version, GrooveSell and GrooveAffiliate.
Apart from giving you 3 of their tools that you can use for free (with which you can actually build a digital product, sell it and create an affiliate program for it) this plan also gives you up to 3 custom domain integrations for FREE. This means, that you don’t need to pay anything to be able to host their software on your pages and you don’t need to use a subdomain to do so (which is not very common in this space).
On top of that, you also get a free SSL certificate…and all of this, is FREE forever, and you don’t need to even add any payment method ar all. If you want to try out GrooveFunnels, you can get a free GrooveFunnels account here.
GrooveFunnels Silver $99/month – This plan gives you the tools you would get in the free account, and also gives you GrooveMail (integrated email autoresponder up to 10,000 leads), GrooveMember (membership site building tool), GrooveVideo (video hosting tool), and also upgrades your GroovePages lite that you get in the free version, to GroovePages PRO (which allows for unlimited everything).
GrooveFunnels Gold $199/month – The gold plan, gives you all of the tools from the other two plans, but also gives you some more tools. These tools are GrooveDesk (helpdesk tool) GrooveCalendar (events and calendar scheduling tool) and GrooveBlog (the integrated blogging tool).
GrooveFunnels Platinum $299/month – This is the most expensive option when it comes to GrooveFunnels, and it gives you access to all of the tools in the rest of the plans, with the addition GrooveWebinar (for webinar hosting, live and automated), GrooveSurvey (survey creator) and GrooveQuiz (quiz creator).
Squarespace
There are also 4 different pricing plans for Squarespace. These are as follows.
Personal $16/month – With this option, you get all of the basic features of the Squarespace platform, that are needed to make your site run smoothly. Some of these features include SSL security, unlimited bandwidth, free templates, customer support, extensions, basic website metrics report and a few more features.
Business $26/month – The business plan allows you to step it up a notch, and in addition to getting what you get in the personal account, you can get a professional Google email, premium integrations and blocks, pop-ups, advanced analytics, integrated eCommerce and even a $100 Google ads coupon.
Ecommerce $30/month – The e-commerce plan, as you might guess, is heavily geared towards eCommerce, as it includes, in addition to all of the features of the other plans, things like powerful eCommerce analytics, 0% transaction fees, merchandising tools, checkouts and the ability to add products on Instagram. Certainly not a plan for everyone but if you’re interested in ecommerce, it’s a great deal.
Commerce $46/month – Finally, the commerce plan, allows for some minor additions onto the e-commerce plan, which include abandon cart recovery, selling subscriptions, advanced shipping, discounts and specific commerce API integrations. The benefits don’t appear to be all that relevant, when compared to the e-commerce plan, but specifically, the abandoned cart recovery, might make it worth your while.
These are the monthly pricing plans for every different option. There is also an annually paid option, in which you can save up to 30% of the price, and takes the price of all of the subscriptions down to 12, 18, 26 and $40/month, respectively. You can learn more about the pricing and features, on their site here.
You also get a “free custom domain” if you choose the annual option, on any one of the plans, although essentially you’ll be paying for a domain through their hosting, which is why they offer it “for free” if you buy annually in the first place, so that’s something to take into consideration.
Other pricing – Another thing to keep in mind, is that some of the additional features of Squarespace, like the email marketing, is actually a service that is not included in the website building side of things. This means that you’ll have to get it, separately, if you want to do email marketing. Same is true for the logo, and the extensions.
GrooveFunnels Vs Squarespace? My Recommendation.
Alright, we’re getting to the end of this GrooveFunnels Vs Squarespace post. We’ve now looked at what each of these software are, what they do and how much they cost…but what is the best option to choose?
Here Is My Recommendation:
Both of these platforms are great, and actually, it’s quite hard to choose which one is better.
GrooveFunnels is great, because you get ACTUAL free custom domain integrations, without having to pay anything, as opposed to what Squarespace offers.
Squarespace, offers you domains and a “free domain” if you choose the annual subscription. The domain “becomes free” because you’re paying for its registration, by paying for a year up-front right then and there…which I don’t really like too much.
GrooveFunnels, on the other hand, tells you to buy your domain in an actual domain registrar like Namecheap, and even if you might have to modify the DNS records (which Squarespace does for you), at least you have access to your domain Cpanel and data!
So…without having to pay anything upfront (except buying your domain), you can use GroovePages lite, GrooveSell and GrooveAffiliate, and host up to 3 of your sites, FOR FREE with their base plan without having to add your credit card. You actually get to use the software without paying.
Another great thing about GrooveFunnels, is that there is no “hidden costs” or shady “tactics” when it comes to their services.
For example, GrooveFunnels gives you an email autoresponder (GrooveMail) with 10,000 subscribers on their $99/month plan, whereas Squarespace says they also include email marketing, but it’s a completely separate service which they charge you separately for (the same is true with extensions and logos).
Now, don’t get me wrong…
Squarespace does have some pretty cool upsides of being able to create your sitemaps for you and allowing for your content to rank on the search engines easily (which GrooveFunnels is currently having some issues in accomplishing)
In addition, they are also better suited for doing e-commerce than GrooveFunnels, has been around for much longer, and have had more customers.
With that said, and purely from a “price” perspective, there is no reason not to try out GrooveFunnels first.
The fact that all you need to pay to try out the software, is $12 for a domain, is ridiculous.
So before buying any “free domains” and trying out Squarespace, I would highly recommend trying GrooveFunnels first. You can head over to this link here, or click on any one of the buttons on this page, to test the software out.
Remember, you don’t have to pay anything to get started, and there is no credit card required to do so either.
