Helium 10 Vs Jungle Scout. Which Is The Better Option?
If you’re looking for an Amazon seller software, you’ve likely come across both the Helium 10 platform, and the Jungle Scout platform. These are two of the most popular all in one software platforms available to Amazon sellers who wish to grow their business online.
In this Helium 10 Vs Jungle Scout article, I’ll look at how these two against each other in terms of features, pricing, and other useful resources, so that you have a better idea of which option to choose.
Let’s check them out.
Helium 10 VS Jungle Scout: Features
Both of these platforms offer features that can help you grow your Amazon business into a profitable venture. With that said, there are obviously some differences between them. In this section, we’ll look at the commonalities and differences between them.
Helium 10 Features
Helium is an all-in-one tool suite platform, so it has a variety of tools that you can use to grow your business. In addition to this, it also has a massive resource section outside of the tools and also includes some bonuses and partnership resources for its users too, so it does go above and beyond that. Whether you’re thinking keyword research, product research, or market analysis, this platform has got you covered.
Here’s a quick look at the Helium 10 features:
-
Keyword Research
Helium 10 has some of the more powerful keyword research and Amazon marketplace research tools on the internet. These tools can help you discover keywords that your competitors are using to rank high and give you suggestions on other valuable words and phrases to use, as well as help you find “high volume low competition” keywords and possible underserved profitable keywords.
-
Listing Optimization
After helping you find the best keywords, Helium 10 provides you with tools to allow you to use those keywords on your product listings, for optimally ranking these on the Amazon search engine.
Scribbles is a Helium 10 tool that ensures that you make use of all the important keywords without leaving out any. This saves you the hassle of checking manually for phrases or words that you need to add to your product title, description, or search terms.
It also helps you take into consideration ranking factors such as description, title length, keyword density, backend keywords, number of bulletpoints and more.
-
Product Research
With Helium 10, you can easily search for profitable products on a database of more than 450 million products. Check reviews, prices, and other data that can give you an idea of whether it’s the right product for your business.
Helium 10 has a product research tool known as Trendster that can show you how a particular product’s sales are bound to perform throughout the year.
-
Competitor Intel
While you look for the best keywords and products, it’s also important to know what your competitors are up to in order to have a better chance to outrank them. Helium 10 has several tools that allow you to find out what products your competitors are selling well and which keywords they’re using to rank high.
-
Chrome Extension
The Helium 10 Chrome Extension has more than 300,000 downloads, and is the number one most downloaded Amazon seller chrome extension on the marketplace. You can easily search for products to sell, check competitor activity, and estimate products through this extension.
It’s available on all Helium 10 plans. And as opposed to other platforms, you can actually get the Helium 10 chrome extension, for free, without even having to add any payment method at all.
-
Helium 10 Resources
Helium 10 has some of the most complete resources, (outside of the tools and chrome extension) that you’ll find on any software platform of this kind. From within their site, you’ll find everything from free webinars, how-to videos, podcasts, free ebooks and even some free tools and PPC campaign audit tools. This is tones more than most of their competitors are offering their users, which really makes the platform stand out.
Jungle Scout Features
Unlike Helium 10, which takes a varied approach towards selling on Amazon, Jungle Scout is a platform that’s more focused on product research.
With that said, Jungle Scout probably the most directly similar alternative to Helium 10 that I’ve been able to find, in the sense that it gives its users a very similar set of tools, to those of Helium 10 (although not as extensive), a chrome extension (although not free) and a bunch of resources (also a bit on the lesser side).
Some of the features that you’ll be able to get access to on this platform include:
-
Product Tracker
This is a tool that enables you to create a strategy for the products that you’re listing on your account. It keeps important data on daily sales, revenue, and inventory data, and allows you to watch your product rankings.
It also allows you to keep an eye on competitor activity, and can be synced with the product database to provide insights that can help you choose the best performing products in your niche.
-
Product Database
The Jungle Scout product database allows you to search through a catalog of more than 475 million products.
You can sort by category, revenue, sales rank, and other parameters that allow you to find the exact product that you need.
You’ll also be able to identify the products that have high competition or under-performing listings, which allow for some really interesting opportunities, and is something pretty much every seller is looking for.
-
Sales Analytics
This tool makes it easy to keep track of all your sales figures. Know what you’re spending on expenses such as Amazon fees, PPC campaigns, and how much you’re selling.
Sales Analytics allows you to have a handle on your business’s financial status so that you can make appropriate marketing decisions.
-
Supplier Database
Do you want to find the best suppliers for the products that you want to sell? Jungle Scout’s Supplier Database allows you to identify reliable suppliers.
Through this tool, you can search for the right suppliers using ASIN within seconds. You can also see who their top customers are, and whether they’re also used by your competitors.
This database also allows you to compare quotes from various suppliers so that you can settle on the one most favorable to your needs.
-
Jungle Scout Extension
The Jungle Scout browser extension can be used in both Chrome and Firefox, and with a few clicks, it allows you to see how a product niche is selling on Amazon and request reviews from past customers.
It can also show you predicted sales for a product and provide insights on competition and demand fluctuation.
Unfortunately, the Jungle Scout extension is not actually free (as opposed to the Helium 10 one) and you can only get access to it by signing up to the software (for which there is still a 14 day free trial).
-
Jungle Scout Resources
The Jungle Scout resource, include a beginners guide and ebook, a million-dollar case study, a blog with related articles, a webinar section, and several tools as well as a news section and success story section…amongst other things.
Even though it’s a bit less complete than the Helium 10 resources, it still tries to keep the same look and feel, and have as much content in there as possible for its users. But it’s basically using the Helium 10 resource section as a guide for its own (although there is nothing wrong with that, if it’s not broken don’t try to fix it).
Helium 10 Vs. Jungle Scout: Prices Comparison
When it comes to pricing, both platform has different options to choose from, depending on your needs. Let’s take a closer look at what the pricing options currently are, for each platform.
Helium 10 Pricing
Helium 10 currently offers the most extensive and flexible options, when it comes to pricing.
Not only does it have a free trial account that doesn’t expire (which not too many other platforms out there offer), which essentially gives you access to a ton of their tools for you to test out (albeit for a limited amount of time)
But it also gives you the ability to “cherry-pick” some of the tools that you want to use, without having to buy every single one of them, if that is something you’re interested in, via the a la carte pricing option.
Their main plans, are as follows:
- Helium 10 Platinum Plan – $97/month
- Helium 10 Diamond Plan – $197/month
- Helium 10 Elite Plan – $397/month
Jungle Scout Pricing
Jungle Scout, on the other hand, does not provide a free base account, and instead only offers you a 14-day money-back guarantee for the plan that you subscribe to.
Therefore, if you’re not satisfied with the platform, you can get a full refund of your subscription fees within the first 14 days, but this means that even for the Jungle Scout extension (which Helium 10s is free and doesn’t ask for payment methods) you’re still obliged to pay the software, even just to test it out.
With that said, what Jungle Scout lacks in one department, it makes up for in another one…specifically pricing.
The current pricing plans for the Jungle Scout platform are :
- Basic Plan – $349 billed annually (or $49/month on the monthly option)
- Suite Plan – $589 billed annually (or $69/month on the monthly option)
- Professional Plan -$999 billed annually (or $129/month on the monthly option)
Comparatively speaking, the Jungle Scout professional plan, on the yearly billing option, is still cheaper than the Helium 10 most basic Platinum plan, and still offers most of what you’ll be able to get within the Helium 10 platform anyways. Be sure to check out the Jungel Scout pricing page, to see the difference in tools available for each plan.
Helium 10 Vs. Jungle Scout Conclusion
Looking at both Helium 10 and Jungle Scout, it’s fairly easy to see that both the platforms are very similar.
With that said, Helium 10 does offer a few things that Jungle Scout doesn’t. Mainly a free account (no payment information needed), the free chrome extension, more resources and also more pricing options.
In hindsight, Jungle Scout offers cheaper prices, and even though it’s not as flexible or as powerful as the Helium 10 tools, it still does most of the things that Helium 10 does, and still allows for a wide range of actions for its users, without compromising quality.
- If you want to use the absolute best platform, I would recommend Helium 10. You’ll be getting the highest quality, and most used platform out there, that gives you everything that you need, including all the resources, at a flexible price.
- If you have no issues using the second-best software, don’t need as many features whilst keeping the essentials or are on a budget, I’d recommend Jungle Scout.
